Automotive Transmission Lead-Frame |
These very complex lead-frames were co-developed with our customer. Wiegel Tool Works prototyped the lead-frame and two terminal clusters, assembled the terminals into a connector, and then welded the connector onto the lead-frame. In charge of the production program, Wiegel Tool Woks was ultimately responsible for building the lead-frame tooling, providing some design help, and prototyping the lead-frames.
With 0.12" thick C7025 and BeCU as the base materials, Wiegel Tool Works used progressive die stamping to produce the necessary components, and applied electro plated tin as necessary. The tightest tolerance upheld was +/- .001". In total, 150,000 lead-frames were produced over the period of a year. Two deliveries per month were arranged, according to client specifications. Once delivered to China, the lead-frames were used in automotive transmissions applications. |
