Shorting Clip with Inlay and Bimetal for Automotive Air Bag Sensor/Connector (click on thumbnail to enlarge)  Short clip | Wiegel Tool Works manufactured this shorting clip from a bimetal material, a combination of stainless steel and copper, featuring two inlays of precious metal. We designed and built the die using UG Wizard, and then began manufacturing the clips with progressive die stamping-the tightest tolerance upheld was +/- .0001"- and we stamped over 40,000,000 clips. After manufacturing, we used a vision system to check all angles and contact points, and an automatic packaging system to provide an accurate number of parts per bag. Intended for use in an airbag application, the shorting clips were delivered according to the client's just-in-time delivery plan. |
