Wiegel Tool Works is a full-production metal stamping company offering metal stamping production services such as progressive die high-speed stamping, progressive die heavy stamping, waterjet cutting and stamping assembly, and through our joint venture company, MSA-Wiegel N.A., we also offer Bihler multi-slide metal forming services. Additionally, we support all our metal stamping programs with in-house engineering design and manufacturing of progressive tool and dies. For customers looking to prototype their parts before moving their program into high-volume production, we offer rapid prototype services.

Wiegel Tool Works serves tier manufacturers and OEMs. We work directly with a number of vehicle manufacturers. We also work with numerous subcomponent manufacturers like battery manufacturers, fuel system manufacturers, wire harness manufacturers, electrical systems manufacturers, semiconductor manufacturers, sensor manufacturers, electronics manufacturers and insert molders, to name a few.

Yes. Wiegel Tool Works provides prototyping services and engineering assistance for new product designs that are at the early stages of development with plans to move up to high-volume production. Our Prototype Department can help with new production concepts by experimenting with product forms and simulating the manufacturing process. Our experienced team of engineers can draw up part design ideas that result in effective tool design and feasible manufacturing.

Wiegel Tool Works produces parts from copper-based, precious and ferrous metals. We work with copper, brass, phosphor bronze, beryllium copper, steel, stainless steel, carbon steel, aluminum, galvanized steel, titanium, platinum, inconel, hastelloy and other requested metals. We can also produce parts using selective plated metals.

Wiegel Tool Works implements various quality control processes and technologies to ensure quality production parts. We incorporate in-die sensor and electronics to detect quality inspection during the production process. We also have in-line and off-line vision systems that conduct quality inspection after final parts are produced. Our Quality Lab and Safe Launch Team is responsible for conducting in-process inspection, capability studies and quality inspection testing before jobs are released to production.

Yes. Surface coating options include epoxy power coating, nylon powder coating, pvc powder coating, polyethylene powder coating, polyurethane powder coating, polyester powder coating, vinyl powder coating and vinyl plastisol liquid coating.

Yes. Wiegel Tool Works has an Engineering Department and full-fledged Tool Room for designing and building progressive dies for production. Our Engineering Department designs tools utilizing Siemens NX CAD Design software that simulates production in a virtual platform prior to physical production. Our team of engineers offer design assistance for tools to produce effective parts and efficient production at a competitive cost. Our in-house tooling department is responsible for building the progressive tools to spec utilizing highly accurate and advanced tool building technology.

Wiegel Tool Works is a 207,000 sq-ft metal stamping operation with 4 locations. Their metal stamping production headquarters facility is 68,000 sq-ft in Wood Dale, IL. They have an additional 25,000 sq-ft metal stamping facility also located in Wood Dale. Their Bensenville, IL metal stamping plant is 52,000 sq-ft, and their warehouse and distribution center is 62,000 sq-ft in Elk Grove Village, IL.

Wiegel Tool Works has a 2 to 5-day delivery time to produce a quote for a customer. Depending on the complexity of the part design and number of parts being quoted, we can produce a quote in as little as one day.

Yes. Wiegel Tool Works is very involved in our local and national communities. We contribute to local food drives, participate in toy drives, sponsor events at associations and donate to organizations such as Gigi’s Play House and La Rabida Children’s Hospital and local educational institutions like TMA Education Foundation and Harper College Education Foundation. We’ve also donated advanced manufacturing equipment and tools to the TMA training center and local school programs to help enhance manufacturing education and technical training programs.

Every year Wiegel Tool Works participates in MFG Day to provide presentations and offer tours of our modern manufacturing facility to students, educators, parents and government officials. We work with high schools and colleges to plan field trips and scheduled visitations to our manufacturing facility, and we visit schools to participate in speaking panels that train, educate and promote careers in the manufacturing industry. We often collaborate with colleagues and organizations in the manufacturing industry on community engagement projects to market the manufacturing industry and increase workforce and talent development. Owners and siblings, Aaron Wiegel and Erica Wiegel also have individual scholarships in their name that are awarded every year to an NIU Engineering student.

Wiegel Tool Works produces electrical connectors and non-electrical components. We specialize in brackets, busbars, electronic shielding components, lead frames, press-fit pins, terminals and wire and cable connectors.

For progressive die high-speed stamping, we have presses ranging from 30 to 90 tons. Our progressive die heavy stamping department has presses ranging from 100 to 450 tons.

Wiegel Tool Works acquires robotic assembly line equipment and automation equipment for their production projects to offer high-efficiency and achieve optimal product lead time and delivery. Based on project requirements, we will determine the appropriate equipment and design a unique automation process specific to our customer’s program.

Yes. Typical plating finishes include copper, nickel, tin-lead, tin, palladium, palladium-nickel, silver, gold and zinc.

Yes. Stampings can be assembled with hardware components like screw machine parts, PEMSERTs or PEM nuts, bushings, nuts, studs, and fasteners. Plastic parts and metal inserts can also be assembled to metal stampings.

Wiegel Tool Works’ metal stamping production headquarters is located in Wood Dale, IL. They have a second metal stamping plant also located in Wood Dale, a metal stamping facility in Bensenville, IL and a warehouse and distribution center located in Elk Grove Village, IL.

Wiegel Tool Works runs high-volume production for programs with typical annual volumes starting from 50,000 parts to millions of parts per year. These runs are about 6 to 8 weeks each. On average, the programs we run usually have annual multi-million part volumes; however, we do run lower volumes for programs that are in early development stages. Eventually, these programs ramp up to high-volume production.
