QUALITY, COST-EFFECTIVE AND EFFICIENT PRODUCTION

Metal Stamping Technology & Equipment

Wiegel has a culture of always striving to be the best at its craft, which, in turn, requires innovation, investments and training—three key areas that push Wiegel ahead of its competition. Embracing the latest technology is a philosophy Wiegel follows as we want to have the necessary tools to develop breakthrough techniques and processes and deliver quality parts. Our technology takes projects from design through production efficiently, cost-effectively and 100% quality assured. At Wiegel, new equipment is purchased for added capacity and older equipment is replaced with modern technology. We utilize top-of-the-line metal stamping and metal forming equipment from brands like Bruderer, Minster and Bihler and implement sophisticated quality controls such as in-line and off-line camera vision systems and sensors to monitor all running parts coming off production presses. In our Quality Control Lab, we use powerful OGP smart scope and Zeiss CMM measuring technology to inspect geometry and complex forms of precision production parts. We also have an Automation Center dedicated to research and development of new automation and robotics technology. Our automation experts build innovative systems to enable comprehensive manufacturing processes and develop unique vision system and sensors in-house to ensure quality control on every production program.

Stamping Equipment

HIGH-SPEED STAMPING EQUIPMENT

Our progressive die high-speed stamping department operates Bruderer presses to stamp copper-based alloys, aluminum, ferrous, and exotic metals at speeds up to 1,500 strokes per minute. This increased speed enables quick turnaround of multi-million-piece projects. High-speed stamping parts like terminals and lead frames are produced while running multiple-up tooling progressions at tremendous speeds to yield cost effective parts for our customers.

HEAVY STAMPING EQUIPMENT

We utilize progressive die heavy stamping equipment from Minster to produce larger and thicker precision stamped components. Typical stampings we run on our heavy stamping presses are busbars, brackets, wire and cable connectors and others.

TOOL ROOM EQUIPMENT

Tool and die building is the foundation of Wiegel. We started business as a tool and die house and later focused our business on metal stamping while still producing tools in-house for progressive die stamping production. We have a fully-developed tool room with high-end tooling equipment. Some of the top equipment we’ve invested in is our optical profile grinder, wire EDM machinery, vertical and horizontal CNC machining centers, a waterjet machine, tooling grinders and tool and die benches equipped with other key tools for die building.

QUALITY LAB EQUIPMENT

Wiegel’s quality lab features top technology for ensuring parts measure up to exact specifications. We utilize high-level quality inspection equipment including SmartScope OGPs, a Zeiss Contura CMM and a Keyence. The variety of this advanced quality inspection equipment allows us to measure flat and 3-dimensional parts accurately and efficiently.

We Prioritize customer satisfaction

At Wiegel, our utmost priority is customer satisfaction with the quality and integrity of our parts. In-die sensors, press monitoring systems, camera vision systems and a dedicated inspection team ensure parts leaving the production line exceed customer expectations.

CAMERA VISION SYSTEMS AND SENSORS

Our dedicated Automation Center is responsible for developing camera vision system and sensor technology to run unique to each program. We acquire top camera technology to incorporate within our vision systems so we can view the intricate dimensions of parts from all sides of the parts and are capable of capturing digital imaging at incredible shutter speed. Our specially designed vision system computer program tracks this data on screen to prevent production defects and ensure perfect quality and accuracy of every part.

WATERJET

We’ve invested in waterjet cutting technology as an alternative manufacturing method that produces quick and cost-effective parts for many applications without the need for tooling design and production. Waterjet cutting is a cold process that uses 60,000 psi abrasive water pressure to cut through nearly any material at a rapid rate.

ROBOTICS AND AUTOMATION LINES

Wiegel acquires premier robots and automation technology to produce complete manufacturing assemblies for our customers in a seamless operation. We specially design the placement and programming of robots and automation lines to ensure the best feasible manufacturing process for timing, efficiency and quality of the end product.

Mass produce high-tolerant and high-quality metal stampings with top-of-the-line equipment at Wiegel.
